Legal Information
There are certain people who I won’t & can’t legally sell alcohol to in Australia.
Firstly, you MUST be 18 years old, or older.
It is an offence for us to supply you if you are under 18. If you are under 18, you could be fined up to $1,200 for purchasing or attempting to purchase alcohol. The fine would be a double whammy for me – up to $6,000 as an individual, & up to $12,000 as the licensee. I reserve the right to take legal action against you to recover these (+ court) costs, if you illegally buy wine from me & I am subsequently fined.
Australia Post employees & their contractors, who will be delivering your wine, will require a signature upon delivery, of a person over the age of 18 years. Legally, the delivery cannot be left on your premises if no one is there. If you or the person you have sent the delivery to looks under 25 years old, the delivery person will ask you for ID. If this can’t be produced, the delivery will revert to your or their local post office & can be signed for & picked up once suitable ID can be produced. Using a fake ID could also result in a fine to you of up to $1,200.
Secondly, you must not live in a ‘dry’ community where alcohol is illegal to possess or consume.
Australia Post will not deliver alcohol to these communities.
